Renew Weathered Sunscreen

Before selling your home, don’t replace your weathered and faded sunscreens! Instead, consider spray painting them for a fresh new look. First remove the sunscreens from the window frame. Now be sure to take the proper time required to tape the metal frame edges using either masking tape or blue painter’s tape. As with any painting project, preparation is essential. Once you have tape the sunscreen frame, you can now use black spray paint to renew the faded mesh. Apply short even layers of spray paint so as not to clog the mesh in the sunscreen. Repeat as needed, allowing frames to dry in sun before removing tape. You will be amazed how your old sunscreens will come out looking like new!

I must give credit to one of my clients for passing along this great homeowner tip… thank you Bob K.
